Mobile notaries work by appointment, not storefront hours, so the "open now" hours Google shows for them are often just office hours for calls — not a promise anyone will show up at 9pm for a hospital signing or a Saturday closing. Every listing here has after-hours or 24-hour availability confirmed directly from the notary's own website or booking terms, not inferred from a generic hours field.

After-Hours Mobile Notaries near Birmingham
Good to know
Can I find a notary open at night or on weekends?
Yes — many mobile notaries advertise 24/7 or evening/weekend availability specifically for loan signings, hospital and hospice visits, and jail notarizations, which real estate closings and urgent legal matters routinely require. Response time is usually 1-3 hours for a same-night appointment, faster in metro areas.
Do notaries charge extra for after-hours appointments?
Most do — expect a $25-$75 after-hours or emergency fee added to the base travel and signing fee, with weekend and holiday appointments sometimes priced the same as night calls. A handful of notaries build a flat 24-hour rate into their pricing instead, so it's worth asking directly rather than assuming the surcharge applies.
